About

Meet Dr. de Luna

Dr. Katherine de Luna is originally from Toronto, Canada, but has lived in

the San Francisco area since the age of five.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of San Francisco (USF).  After working in the Department of Oral Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) for two years, she went on to earn her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at UCSF in 2004.  After UCSF, Dr. de Luna completed a one year residency at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where she treated medically compromised and disabled patients.  She has worked in a variety of settings, including private practices and for four years in community clinics treating underserved populations, before opening her own practice.  Getting to know and developing long term relationships with her patients drew Dr. de Luna to general dentistry, and what motivates her everyday.

Dr. de Luna truly enjoys living and working in San Francisco, the city she loves.  Away from the office, she enjoys time with her husband, and finding balance between her arts and crafts and active activities.  Hiking, yoga, tennis, traveling, sewing and knitting are among her favorite activities, but she is always looking for new things to explore and learn.  A lifelong student, she is always taking a new class to broaden her mind or learn a new skill.  She has incorporated her love of traveling and helping others by providing dental care in some less fortunate parts of the world.  She has volunteered in remote areas of Honduras, Peru and Cambodia.

Our Services

Initial Oral Examination and Routine Check Ups
Dental Cleanings

Your initial oral examination includes a thorough oral exam, digital x-rays, periodontal (gum and bone) evaluation, and any necessary treatment recommendations. Routine check ups are essential in preventing dental problems and maintaining the health of your teeth and gums.

Standard basic cleanings are recommended at least twice a year.  For some patients, a deep cleaning (scaling and root planning) may be recommended.  We also review oral hygiene instructions for proper home care.

Fillings

Tooth-colored resin fillings or silver-colored amalgam fillings are available to restore decayed or damaged areas of your teeth.

Crowns

Teeth that are significantly decayed, broken, or have been root canal treated can be restored with porcelain or gold crowns.

Replacing Missing Teeth

Dental implants, bridges, and removable dentures are different options available to replace missing teeth.  Together we will determine the best option to fit your needs.

Teeth Bleaching

We offer a custom fit home bleaching tray with professional strength gel to really brighten your smile.
